Business car insurance
A car in a company's name is something different in insurance terms from a private car. More people drive it, it covers more kilometres, and employers' liability comes into play.

In brief
With a car in a company's name the company builds up the no-claims years, not the driver. That matters when an employee leaves, and with a fleet the system changes altogether.
More important is what is not covered: injury to your employee during work-related road use. That is employers' liability and falls outside the motor policy.
This page deals with one part. The overview of all parts is on the the main car insurance page.
What to look out for
WEGAS is not a duplication
The motor policy covers the vehicle and damage to third parties. Your duty of care as an employer towards the driver is a separate policy.
Declaring several drivers
If changing employees drive it, declare that. Young drivers weigh heavily on the premium and on acceptance.
From a few cars onwards: a fleet
With more than a handful of vehicles a fleet policy is cheaper and easier to administer.
Private use and taxable benefit
If the car is also used privately, declare it. It affects not only the tax authorities but also the acceptance.
What determines the premium
- List price
- Number and age of the drivers
- Annual mileage
- The company's claims history
- Cover and excess chosen
This information is general in nature and is not personal advice. What is actually covered, including exclusions and the excess, is set out in the policy conditions and the insurance card (verzekeringskaart) of the insurer; you receive both before you take out cover.
Customers rate our service on four aspects: personal service, service delivery, availability and the outcome. The reviews are collected and published by NH1816 and come from customers who have actually taken out a policy with Finass Advies B.V. or reported a claim.
Frequently asked questions
Who builds up the no-claims years?
With a car in a company's name, the company, not the driver. That matters when an employee leaves and takes out insurance for a car of their own.
Is injury to my employee covered?
Not on the motor policy. For that you need a WEGAS insurance covering employers' liability.
Do I have to declare private use?
Yes. It affects the acceptance and the mileage, alongside the tax consequences.
From what point is a fleet policy worthwhile?
At around three to five vehicles, mainly because of the administration and the changes.
What is covered and what is not

| A stone chip damages the windscreen during a journey to a supplier | Yes | Yes |
