You insure an electric van — such as an e-Transporter, e-Sprinter, e-Transit or Master E-Tech — largely as you would an ordinary van, with one important difference: the battery makes up a large part of the value. It is best insured, together with the charging cable, under the own-damage cover. Third-party liability cover is, as always, compulsory by law.
Also consider the charging point at your business or at home, the business use and the replacement value as new. At Finass Verzekert we compare several insurers and look for one with good conditions for electric vans.
Pay attention to insuring the battery and charging cable, cover for the charging point, the use (private or business), tools and equipment in the load space, and the replacement value as new. We advise you independently and arrange everything.
We compare your van insurance across dozens of insurers, explain where the real differences lie, and arrange the switch from start to finish — without you having to chase it yourself.

Get coveredThe structure of the cover in three parts, with an overview per situation below.
The cover required by law. On an electric van, third-party liability cover pays nothing towards damage to the vehicle or the battery — usually not enough.
Alongside third-party liability cover, protection against damage to your own car from external causes you cannot prevent.
The most complete cover, including damage through your own fault, with the battery and charging cable insured as well and preferably on a replacement value as new basis. For an electric van, the obvious choice.

This overview concerns our service, not the cover. What is actually covered is set out in the policy conditions and on the insurer's insurance card (verzekeringskaart); you receive both before you take out cover.
Insurers weigh these details differently. That is where your saving is.
We look at the terms as well as the premium, and stay your point of contact when there is a claim.
We are not tied to one insurer and compare on the basis of an objective analysis of several companies.
You call or email someone who knows your file. No menu options, no changing call centres.
We cancel your old policy and align the start date, so you are never a day without cover.
We report the claim and monitor how it is handled. In urgent cases you can reach us on the emergency line.
Customers rate our service on four aspects: personal service, service delivery, availability and the outcome. The reviews are collected and published by NH1816 and come from customers who have actually taken out a policy with Finass Advies B.V. or reported a claim.
Four points that make the difference between a policy that pays out and one that does not.
Battery & charging cable insured The battery makes up a large part of the value. Insure it and the charging cable under the own-damage cover, at home and on the road.
Charging point at your business or at home Cover for your wallbox or charging point against damage, theft and collision.
Equipment & tools Cover for tools and equipment in the load space against damage and theft.
Passenger accident insurance (SVI) Pays for injury and material damage to the driver and passengers, regardless of who is at fault.
This is what people ask us most.
Under own-damage cover (third-party liability plus third-party, fire and theft, or comprehensive) the battery is insured as well. Because the battery represents a large part of the value, this matters. We make sure the battery and charging cable are correctly stated on the policy.
The charging cable is insured under the own-damage part. For the charging point or wallbox at your business or at home an additional module is often needed. We explain how to cover both properly.
That depends on the value of the battery, the payload, the use and the cover chosen. By comparing several insurers through Finass Verzekert you will find the most competitive premium.
Because of the value of the battery, comprehensive cover, preferably on a replacement value as new basis, is usually the obvious choice. For an older electric van, third-party liability plus third-party fire and theft may be enough. Calculate your premium using the tool.
Not as standard. With additional equipment and tools cover you insure the items in the load space against damage and theft. We arrange it as part of the package.
Yes, Dutch policies provide cover in the EU and neighbouring countries as standard. Charging on the way falls outside the insurance, but breakdown assistance can take you to a charging point. We advise you on this.
Every situation is different. For these situations we have a separate page.
