In brief

As a self-employed professional you insure your business vehicles — from car and van to motorcycle, scooter, lorry, plant and machinery and trailer — with third-party liability; third-party, fire and theft; or comprehensive cover. You choose the right cover for each vehicle, matched to your business use.

We match the cover to your business use, mileage and no-claims years. At Finass Verzekert we compare several insurers and look for the keenest premium for your vehicle.

Pay attention to the business use, the mileage, the own-damage cover and whether the load or your tools need to be insured separately. Our advice is independent.

Independent, personal, sorted quickly

We compare your van insurance across dozens of insurers, explain where the real differences lie, and arrange the switch from start to finish — without you having to chase it yourself.

What does business vehicle insurance cover, and what is the premium?

The structure of the cover in three parts, with an overview per situation below.

Third-party liability insurance

Third-party liability insurance is required by law and covers damage you cause to others with your vehicle, not damage to your own vehicle.

  • Damage to other vehicles
  • Injury to third parties
  • Damage to buildings and objects
  • Damage caused by passengers

Third-party liability + fire and theft

Alongside third-party liability cover, protection against damage to your own car from external causes you cannot prevent.

  • Fire and storm damage
  • Theft and burglary
  • Windscreen breakage and glass damage
  • Collision with animals

Comprehensive insurance

The most complete cover, including damage to your own vehicle, theft and write-off — sensible for a new or valuable business vehicle.

  • Hail damage
  • Damage through your own fault
  • Vandalism
  • Unknown party at fault

This overview concerns our service, not the cover. What is actually covered is set out in the policy conditions and on the insurer's insurance card (verzekeringskaart); you receive both before you take out cover.

What does your premium depend on?

  • Sum insured: the main basis for calculation
  • Cover and modules chosen
  • Risk profile and sector
  • Excess chosen
  • Claims history
  • Working area

Insurers weigh these details differently. That is where your saving is.

Frequently asked questions

This is what people ask us most.

Which vehicles can I insure as a self-employed professional?

From car and van to motorcycle, scooter, lorry, plant and machinery and trailer. We insure every business vehicle with the right cover.

Can I bring several vehicles together on one policy?

Yes, you can insure several business vehicles together in one clear arrangement, often at a more favourable rate. We set this up for you.

Is business vehicle insurance compulsory?

Third-party liability cover is required by law for every motor vehicle. Own-damage cover (limited or full) is optional, but sensible for a new or valuable vehicle.

Can I insure my vehicle for business use?

Yes, as a self-employed professional you insure your vehicle for business use. The premium is then usually deductible as a business expense. We set this up to suit you.

Do my no-claims years count?

Yes, we carry over the no-claims years you have built up. No-claims years built up on a business policy can also count towards a lower premium.

Are the load and my tools included?

Vehicle insurance covers the vehicle itself. For your load and tools on the road you take out goods-in-transit insurance. We combine the two if you wish.
