- Damage caused by passengers
When a motorcyclist can find cover nowhere after a cancellation or a run of claims, one route remains Open, and it almost always begins with third-party liability cover.

Motorcyclists whose insurer has cancelled their policy face a problem bigger than an expensive premium: without cover the machine may not use the road, because Article 2 of the Dutch Motor Insurance Liability Act (WAM) requires third-party liability Insurance. Vereende was set up for risks the regular market does not accept, and this is one of them: cancellation for non-payment, several claims in a short period, a register entry, or a return after a driving disqualification.
Underwriting works differently from what you are used to. It is not a rating table that is looked at but your file, and cover usually starts with third-party liability only. Own-damage cover follows only after a demonstrably claim-free period. That is not a punishment but the way this segment works: you rebuild your insurability.
The starting point is complete openness. If you are looking for a regular Motorcycle policy with nothing unusual in your past, you are better off with a standard product such as Motorcycle insurance through Unigarant.
We compare your Motorcycle insurance across dozens of insurers, explain where the real differences lie, and arrange the switch from start to finish — without you having to chase it yourself.

Get coveredThe structure of the cover in three parts, with an overview per situation below.
Third-party liability insurance is compulsory by law and covers damage you cause to others with your Motorcycle, not damage to your own Motorcycle.
Alongside third-party liability cover, protection against damage to your own car from external causes you cannot prevent.
The most complete cover, including for damage you cause yourself, theft and total loss. We compare Vereende's comprehensive version with the market.

This overview concerns our service, not the cover. What is actually covered is set out in the policy conditions and on the insurer's Insurance card (verzekeringskaart); you receive both before you take out cover.
Insurers weigh these details differently. That is where your saving is.
We look at the terms as well as the premium, and stay your point of Contact when there is a claim.
We are not tied to one insurer and compare on the basis of an objective analysis of several companies.
You call or email someone who knows your file. No menu options, no changing Call centers.
We cancel your old policy and align the start date, so you are never a day without cover.
We report the claim and monitor how it is handled. In urgent cases you can reach us on the emergency line.
Customers rate our service on four aspects: Personal service, service delivery, availability and the outcome. The reviews are collected and published by NH1816 and come from customers who have actually taken out a policy with Finass Advies B.V. or reported a claim.
Four points that make the difference between a policy that pays out and one that does not.
On the application you must state everything that is asked for: earlier claims, cancellations, refusals, register entries and any criminal measure relating to your licence. That is your duty of disclosure under Article 7:928 of the Dutch Civil Code. If after a claim it turns out that something relevant to the underwriting was withheld, the insurer can, under Article 7:930 of the Dutch Civil Code, reduce or entirely refuse payment and terminate the policy after all. Openness in advance is cheaper here than silence.
In this segment cover usually starts with third-party liability only. That means damage to your own machine is for your Account: a fall with no other party involved, theft and fire are then not covered. After a period without claims, an extension to third-party, fire and theft or comprehensive is often open to discussion. Bear that in mind when choosing the machine: a valuable example you cannot insure for own damage is a risk you bear entirely yourself.
If you ride under the influence, while disqualified, or take part in a speed trial, that goes to the heart of the cover. Under Article 7:952 of the Dutch Civil Code an insurer does not have to pay for damage the insured caused intentionally or through recklessness. The third-party liability payment to the victim remains in place because the WAM protects it, but the amount paid can then be recovered from you.
After a cancellation you lose the discount you built up and start at the bottom of the scale. Every year without a claim counts again, including on a policy in this segment, provided the claim-free record is properly registered. So do not automatically claim for small losses but work out what a drop on the no-claims scale costs. After a number of claim-free years, a return to a regular insurer at a normal premium is usually possible again.
Replacement transport after a claim Stay mobile with replacement transport.
This is what people ask us most.
Usually you can, but not with a regular insurer. Vereende focuses on risks that have been refused elsewhere. The condition is that you put the whole file on the table: the reason for the cancellation, the number and nature of the claims and any register entries. On that basis an individual assessment is made, usually starting with third-party liability cover only.
Usually not. In this segment cover starts with third-party liability only, which satisfies the duty to insure under Article 2 of the Dutch Motor Insurance Liability Act (WAM) but leaves damage to your own machine with you. A fall, theft and fire are then not covered. After a demonstrably claim-free period, an extension to third-party, fire and theft or comprehensive is often Open to discussion. Bear that in mind when choosing your machine.
Yes. An entry in a warning system, an earlier refusal or a criminal measure relating to your licence falls under the duty of disclosure in Article 7:928 of the Dutch Civil Code where it is asked about. Concealment does not pay: Insurers consult these files at underwriting and certainly when a claim is made. If it comes out afterwards, the payment can lapse under Article 7:930 DCC.
Not for your own damage. Article 7:952 of the Dutch Civil Code relieves the insurer of the duty to pay for damage caused by the insured's intent or recklessness, and alcohol above the legal limit is a standard exclusion. The victim is paid, because the WAM provides that protection. The insurer can then recover the amount paid from you.
