With an exclusive car, the argument after a claim is almost always about value. We therefore arrange this product with the value fixed in advance.

Exclusive car insurance differs from an ordinary own-damage policy on one point: the insured value comes not from a price list but from a a valuation report from an expert. Article 7:960 of the Dutch Civil Code prohibits you from receiving more than your loss, but a valid agreed valuation fixes that loss in advance, so that the insurer can no longer fall back on a lower market value afterwards. That is exactly what you need on a car with a limited market.
We put this product forward for cars that cover few kilometres, are kept in locked storage and often stand alongside one or more other vehicles owned by the same person. In cases like that it is not about the lowest premium but about whether the valuation, the group of drivers and the storage arrangement match how you actually use the car.
We are not tied to any one provider. We set this application alongside other parties active in this segment, such as exclusive car insurance through Chubb, and alongside the wider exclusive car insurance.
We compare your car insurance across dozens of insurers, explain where the real differences lie, and arrange the switch from start to finish — without you having to chase it yourself.

Get coveredThe structure of the cover in three parts, with an overview per situation below.
Third-party liability insurance is compulsory by law and covers damage you cause to others with your car, not damage to your own car.
Alongside third-party liability cover, protection against damage to your own car from external causes you cannot prevent.
The most complete cover, including damage you cause, theft and total loss. We compare Assicuro's comprehensive version with the market.

This overview concerns our service, not the cover. What is actually covered is set out in the policy conditions and on the insurer's insurance card (verzekeringskaart); you receive both before you take out cover.
Insurers weigh these details differently. That is where your saving is.
We look at the terms as well as the premium, and stay your point of contact when there is a claim.
We are not tied to one insurer and compare on the basis of an objective analysis of several companies.
You call or email someone who knows your file. No menu options, no changing call centres.
We cancel your old policy and align the start date, so you are never a day without cover.
We report the claim and monitor how it is handled. In urgent cases you can reach us on the emergency line.
Customers rate our service on four aspects: personal service, service delivery, availability and the outcome. The reviews are collected and published by NH1816 and come from customers who have actually taken out a policy with Finass Advies B.V. or reported a claim.
Four points that make the difference between a policy that pays out and one that does not.
An agreed valuation by a recognised valuer fixes the value under Article 7:960 of the Dutch Civil Code. That does not hold good for ever: insurers apply a period of validity and let the valuation lapse after it. If the period has expired at the time of the claim, you fall back on the market value the loss adjuster then assesses. Put the expiry date in your diary and have the car revalued in good time, certainly after restoration or after expensive parts have been fitted.
If you drive two or three cars in turn, the group of drivers matters more than the registration. Insurers ask who the main driver of each car is and whether others may drive. Declare that too widely or too narrowly and it touches on the duty of disclosure under Article 7:928 of the Dutch Civil Code. Discuss too whether no-claims years are built up per policy or whether one certificate of no claims can carry the other vehicles.
If your policy carries a storage clause or a mileage limit, that is a binding agreement. If the car is stolen from the street while the policy assumes a locked garage, the insurer can refuse or reduce the payout. The same applies to security requirements such as an approved alarm or tracking system. If your situation changes, report it in writing; a changed risk that has not been reported works against you when you claim.
Wear, inherent defect and mechanical failure are not a sudden event and fall outside own-damage cover. An engine rebuild is therefore not a claim. Taking part in speed events, training and track use is excluded as standard. Any loss of value remaining after a proper repair is in general not paid for. Intent and recklessness fall away under Article 7:952 of the Dutch Civil Code, and hire or paid passenger transport is not covered without a separate agreement.
Replacement transport after a claim Stay mobile with replacement transport.
This is what people ask us most.
Because the list price says nothing about what your car is actually worth. With a limited production run, an unusual specification or a restored car, there is no usable price list. An agreed valuation fixes the value in advance, so the loss adjuster does not have to estimate again after the claim. Without a valuation the market value decides, and on cars like these that often works out lower than expected.
Insurers each apply their own period. It is stated on the policy schedule or in the report itself. Once it ends, the binding effect lapses and the market value at the time of the claim applies. So have the car revalued before the period expires, and certainly after a restoration, after a major repair or after you have had costly original parts fitted.
That depends on the driver clause on your policy. Some policies cover any driver with your permission, others limit cover to the owner and their partner, or set a minimum age. If someone outside that group drives, own-damage cover can fall away while third-party cover towards the victim continues under the WAM. Have the group described properly in advance.
With a valid agreed valuation, the valued amount is the starting point for the settlement, less your excess and the salvage value of the wreck if you keep it. If the repair comes to more than a proportion of that value stated in the conditions, the insurer may decide on a total loss. If you want to keep the car in that case, discuss it with the loss adjuster straight away.
