In brief
VvE contents insurance covers the communal contents: everything belonging to the association that is not fixed to the building. Think of furniture in the hall, garden furniture, tools, garden machinery, fire extinguishers and camera surveillance.
These items do not fall under the buildings insurance (opstalverzekering), which covers only the building and what is fixed to it. Nor do they fall under the contents policies of individual owners.
This page deals with one part. The overview of all parts is on the the main VvE insurance page.
What to look out for
Take stock of what is actually there
Garden machinery, ladders, tools and cleaning equipment soon add up. Draw up a list with values and photographs.
Security of the store
Theft cover depends on the security of the communal area. A good lock and lighting are often a condition.
Not residents' own belongings
Bicycles and belongings of individual owners in the store fall under their own contents policy, not under that of the VvE.
Small amount, little scope for argument
The premium is modest. The benefit lies mainly in clarity when a claim arises, so that no argument develops about who pays for what.
What determines the premium
- Sum insured for communal contents
- Security of stores and hall
- Number of apartment rights
- Location
- Excess
This information is general in nature and is not personal advice. What is actually covered, including exclusions and the excess, is set out in the policy conditions and the insurance card (verzekeringskaart) of the insurer; you receive both before you take out cover.
Customers rate our service on four aspects: personal service, service delivery, availability and the outcome. The reviews are collected and published by NH1816 and come from customers who have actually taken out a policy with Finass Advies B.V. or reported a claim.

Usually sound locks and fittings on the communal stores, sometimes supplemented by lighting or cameras.
