2 Our licence and our services
Finass Advies B.V. holds a licence from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) under number 12016589.
Within the scope of our licence we advise on and/or act as intermediary in, among other things:
private and business non-life insurance;
income insurance;
health insurance;
mortgage credit;
consumer credit;
payment and savings accounts;
capital products and, in so far as permitted, participation rights in investment institutions.
Whether we advise, act as intermediary or provide support only in a specific situation depends on the instruction, the product and the arrangements we make with you. You can check the current scope of our licence in the AFM's public register at www.afm.nl.
3 What do our services consist of?
Our services may consist of, among other things:
taking stock of your wishes, objectives, financial position and risks;
assessing existing insurance policies and other financial products;
comparing suitable solutions and providers;
giving advice;
requesting quotations and guiding the acceptance process;
acting as intermediary in taking out or amending financial products;
managing and periodically reviewing current products;
providing support with claims and other questions during the term.
A financial product is ultimately concluded between you and the provider concerned. The provider decides on acceptance, premium, interest, cover and other conditions.
We are not contractually obliged to act as intermediary for one particular provider only. No insurer or financial institution holds an interest in our firm, and we hold no interest in a provider.
We work with a large number of insurers, authorised agents and other financial institutions. For each product type, application and risk we make a selection of providers that in our view may be suitable. We do not necessarily compare all products and providers available on the market.
Where our services for a particular product are based on a more limited selection, or where relevant business or economic ties exist, we inform you of this in so far as this is legally required or relevant to your choice. The companies we work with are listed on the page insurance companies.
5 Comparison card
For advice on and broking of products covered by the commission ban, we provide the statutory comparison card (vergelijkingskaart). It contains, among other things, information on the nature and scope of our services, the costs and our position in relation to providers.
The comparison card is provided before the services concerned begin and is, where applicable, available via our website.
6 How are we remunerated?
Our remuneration depends on the financial product and the services agreed.
Commission from the provider
For non-life insurance, among other things, we may receive commission from the insurer or authorised agent for advice, broking and management. This fee is usually included in the premium. If you ask us, we inform you of the exact nominal amount of the commission we receive for the insurance concerned, in so far as this information obligation applies.
Direct payment by you
For products and services for which no commission may be received, or for which we agree a direct fee with you, you pay us a fixed amount, an hourly rate, a subscription or another fee agreed in advance. We inform you of the nature and level of these costs before the work begins.
In some situations a combination of forms of remuneration may apply, in so far as this is legally permitted. This is agreed clearly with you in advance. How we remunerate our staff is set out in our remuneration policy.
7 Premiums and payments
Premiums, interest and other product costs are in principle collected from you directly by the provider or invoiced to you by the provider. If payment runs through us, we inform you of this.
Failure to pay premiums, interest or costs, or failure to pay them on time, may have consequences for the cover or the continuation of the financial product. You remain responsible yourself for timely payment.
8 What do we expect from you?
To be able to advise and support you properly, we expect you to:
provide all requested information in good time, correctly and in full;
notify us in good time of changes in your personal, financial or business situation;
check quotations, policies, clauses, confirmations of cover, invoices and other documents you receive yourself;
report any inaccuracies or ambiguities to us immediately;
pay premiums, interest and agreed costs on time;
take reasonable measures to prevent loss and comply with obligations under the policy conditions and clauses.
Incorrect, incomplete or late information may lead a provider to reject an application, terminate an insurance policy or refuse to pay a claim in full or at all. The duty of disclosure when taking out an insurance policy is set out in Section 7:928 of the Dutch Civil Code. The consequences of a breach of that duty are set out in Section 7:930 of the Dutch Civil Code.

10 Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our privacy statement. We share data only where this is necessary or permitted for our services, the performance of an agreement or compliance with statutory obligations.
11 Ending the relationship
You can end your relationship with our firm. In so far as the provider allows this, you can request that the management of current products be transferred to another adviser.
Ending the relationship with us does not automatically mean that current insurance policies or other agreements are terminated. The conditions and cancellation rules of the provider and agreement concerned apply to that.
