Your Classic Insured With Care

A classic insurance has been specially developed for classic cars that are used as a hobby. Unlike regular car insurance, your classic car is insured appraisal value – not the current value.

Since the Heritage Act 2016 classic vehicles have a protected status as mobile heritage. The FEHAC (Federation of Historical Automobile and Motorcycle Clubs) has drawn up 10 requirements that good classic car insurance must meet.

The premium for classic insurance is often economical because you drive fewer kilometers and maintain your vehicle well. You do not accrue claim-free years, but you also receive them no premium increase after damage. Premiums start from €38 per year for WA.

🏆 FEHAC: 10 Requirements for Good Classic Car Insurance

The Federation of Historical Automobile and Motorcycle Clubs has drawn up 10 basic requirements. Insurance companies that meet this requirement receive the designation 'FEHAC approved classic car insurance'.

1 Recognition of FEHAC-approved appraisals
2 Appraised value as basic benefit
3 No 'valuation-as-guidance' clause
4 Coverage during restoration
5 Free damage repairer choice
6 Right to retain remainders in the event of a total loss
7 Coverage during suspension/winter break
8 No requirements for second daily car
9 Recognition of club valuations
10 No maximum value

📋 Valuation report: Why & How?

For comprehensive coverage (WA+ or Allrisk) is a FEHAC-approved valuation report verplicht. Bij schade krijgt u de getaxeerde waarde uitgekeerd – not the current value. Zonder taxatie wordt uw klassieker als "oud ijzer" gezien.

The report is allowed maximum 3 years old and must be drawn up by a recognized appraiser. Revaluation is important: values can increase!
