Spyker is a unique Dutch sports car brand with a rich history dating back to 1880. The brothers Hendrik-Jan and Jacobus Spijker from Hilversum started as coach builders and created, among other things, the famous Golden Coach (1897-1898).
In 1999 the brand name was revived by Victor Muller and designer Maartand de Bruijn. From Zeewolde they built exclusive sports cars such as the C8 Spyder and C8 Laviolette with distinctive interior trim and the iconic aircraft propeller logo through a spoked wheel.
With only approx 260 cars built since 2000, every Spyker is extremely exclusive. Insurance costs on average €200-€600 per month. Customization based on appraised value is essential for these collector's items.

📜 Spyker History: 1880 – Present
The story of Spyker begins in 1880 then the brothers Hendrik-Jan and Jacobus Spijker started a carriage factory from Hilversum. In 1886 they moved to Amsterdam where they built the famous Golden Coach built for the inauguration of Queen Wilhelmina (1898).
In 1903 Spyker built the world's first car with six-cylinder engine, four-wheel drive and four-wheel brakes. This innovation is now in the Louwman Museum. In 1907 a Spyker finished second in the legendary rally Beijing-Paris.
During WWI (1914-1918) Spyker built approx 100 fighter planes and 200 aircraft engines – hence the logo with propeller. In 1926 the original factory was closed. In 1999 Victor Muller started the rebirth.
👑 The Golden Carriage
Between 1897 and 1898, the N.V. Rijtuigfabriek v/h Gebr. Nail the Golden Coach – a gift from the people of Amsterdam to Queen Wilhelmina. The carriage cost at the time 120,000 guilders, raised with dimes and quarters from mainly workers.
The carriage is made of Javanese teak wood with gold leaf gilding. To this day, the Golden Carriage is used during Budget Day – a driving proof of the craftsmanship of the Spijker brothers.
🛋️ The Spyker Interior: Craftsmanship Masterpiece
What sets Spyker apart from other sports cars is this unique interior. Inspired by vintage airplane cockpits, each C8 features premium leather, polished aluminum, classic Chronoswiss clocks, and the signature exposed aluminum switch gate.
De aandacht voor detail is legendarisch: van Hand-stitchede lederen panelen tot de "Remove Before Flight"-tags die verwijzen naar de vliegtuighistorie. Elk interieur is volledig personaliseerbaar.
