The Inventor of the Automobile
Mercedes Benz is the oldest car brand in the world and is synonymous with luxury, quality and innovation. The brand was founded in 1926 from the merger of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie. However, the history goes back to 1886, when Carl Bandz patented the world's first car.
The current range is enormous: from the compact A-Class to the luxurious S-Class, from the performance-oriented AMGmodels to the fully electric EQ-series. With model prices of approx €32,000 to more than €250,000 there is a Mercedes for every budget.
Mercedes-Benz insurance costs on average €60-€150 per month for Allrisk, depending on the model. Due to the high build quality, good parts availability and excellent safety scores, Mercedes models can be insured relatively cheaply.

📜 Carl Benz & Gottlieb Daimler: Pioneers
Carl Bandz (1844-1929) built in 1885 the world's first car, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, patented on January 29, 1886. His wife Bertha Bandz made the first long-distance ride of 194 km in 1888.
Gottlieb Daimler (1834-1900) and Wilhelm Maybach independently developed the first four-wheeled car in Stuttgart (1886). They founded the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft in 1890.
The name Mercedes comes from Mercédès Jellinek, daughter of Emil Jellinek, a Daimler dealer who in 1900 demanded that the cars be named after his daughter. In 1926 both companies merged into Daimler-Bandz AG.
🏁 Mercedes-AMG: Performance Division
AMG was in 1967 founded by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher as an independent motorsport tuner. The name stands for Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach (birthplace Aufrecht). Since 2005, AMG has been a 100% subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz.
Well-known breakthrough: the legendary one "Rote Sau" (300 SEL 6.8) won the 1971 Spa 24 Hours. AMG engines are hand-built Affalterbach volgens het principe "One Man, One Engine" – elke engine draagt de signatuur van zijn bouwer.
⚡ Mercedes-EQ: Electric Future
Mercedes EQ is the fully electric sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz, introduced in 2019. The range is growing rapidly with models from compact to ultra-luxury. The EQS is the electric flagship with up to 785 km range.
